Circuit Graph

This circuit is also referred to as a Half Wave Rectifier. When we are talking about Radio Circuits, it is referred to as an Envelope Detector "AM Demodulator." This circuit extracts the message from an AM signal. To pick the values for R and C we can use this equation: fo = sqrt( fc * fm ) = sqrt( 10,000 * 100 ) = 1000 We also know that the cutoff frequency for an RC circuit is: fo = 1 / ( 2*pi*RC ) 1000 = 1 / ( 2*pi*RC) Solve for R and C using an online RC low pass calculator... R=10K, C=16nF You can also use different values such as: R=5k, C=32nF
