This circuit can be used to verify the maximum power transfer theorem. The theorem states that, maximum power is transferred from source to load when the load resistance of the circuit is equal to the source resistance. The Load resistance is calculated as 635ohms in this circuit using thevenin's theorem. Shorting the voltage source and opening the load resistance makes (330 ohm || 330 ohm) + 470 ohm = 635 ohm. When Rth = RL maximum power is transferred ie RL also = 635 ohm and the power transferred is = I^2 x R.
