Circuit Description

Circuit Graph

A half and full bridge rectifier circuit which takes 120V AC and converts it into a DC source. A smoothing capacitor is added to the output of the bridge and is in parallel with the load resistor. It works to remove the ripples because as the voltage from the bridge increases, it charges the capacitor so that when the voltage decreases, the capacitor is able to supply current through the load. The value of the capacitor is chosen such that R_L*C >>1/f. *Note: For the full-bridge rectifier, you need to use make one of your output probes a voltage reference and then reference the other output probe to it. This can be done by clicking on the probes and adjusting the settings.
